Sahil Shah

Sahil is currently a first-year in SEAS, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. He is from Westbury, NY and enjoys Tennis, Food, and Fight Club.
A resident of Westbury, NY, Sahil Shah is a first-year pre-med student at the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. He plans to major in Biomedical Engineering and minor in either Economics or Political Science. As the AAA Community Chair, Sahil hopes help AAA increase its involvement both at Columbia and the surrounding communities. He hopes to help create more programs that aim to foster growth within the Asian American community. He is particularly interested in the current divide in the APIA community between East Asians, South Asians, Southeast Asians, and Pacific Islanders.
Beyond AAA, Sahil also conducts research in a Biomedical Engineering Lab and writes for the Columbia Undergraduate Science Journal at Columbia. When off campus, he volunteers at the Long Island Jewish Hospital and has conducted research at the Marine Sciences Center at Stony Brook University.
At W.T. Tresper Clarke High School in Westbury, Sahil served as the captain of the tennis team and treasurer of DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America). He was also a member of the Business Honor Society and National Honor Society. In his free time, Sahil loves to play tennis, walk to random places, and “destroy Kevin and Steven at anything they do.”
